Stay Cool While Using Less Energy

Posted On: August 9, 2019

Because of the extreme summer heat, electricity demand is very high this week. You can help to lessen the load on the power grid for the next 5 days from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye out for upcoming emails asking you to reduce your electricity usage.

This week, you'll want to:

  • Set your thermostat four degrees higher and enjoy your ceiling fan.
  • Save washing loads (clothes and dishes) until the sun goes down.
  • Unplug and go screen-free.

Now, while these might work wonders for your energy bill on their own, the real savings begin when you start pairing it with our other great energy-saving tips. Check out some of our favorite tips for taking down your summer energy bill.

Of course, we don’t just write energy-saving tips only for the summer. Check back often for tips to save year-round!
