DALLAS (November 30, 2010) – Stream Energy, the largest network marketer of energy in America, has announced a third annual major donation to the Atlanta-based Heating Energy Assistance Team (H.E.A.T), a non-profit organization which has helped low-income and elderly Georgians with their heating bills for 27 years.
This organization makes a difference in people’s lives,” said Stream Energy Chairman Rob Snyder. “As the economy continues to be a challenge for so many, the Stream Energy and Ignite family is glad to do our part,” Chairman Rob Snyder added. Stream Energy joined H.E.A.T. as a corporate partner in 2008, the same year Stream Energy and its marketing arm Ignite entered the state as a result of natural gas deregulation in Georgia.
“With the cold weather that is arriving in Georgia this week, this donation is very timely,” said Janet H. Joseph of H.E.A.T., Inc. “Stream Energy’s donation will help reach the households most in need of emergency energy assistance,” she added.
Stream Energy provides natural gas services to customers within the Atlanta Gas Light service area, who are gathered through the efforts of the firm’s wholly owned marketing subsidiary, Ignite.
H.E.A.T. was established in 1983 as a program of Atlanta Gas Light Company. H.E.A.T. has distributed nearly $19 million to more than 87,000 families since its inception, helping low-income households meet their energy needs through partnerships with concerned citizens, energy companies, state government, community action agencies, corporations, and other organizations.
